Morocco signs agreement to join International Stabilization Force in Gaza

Morocco signed an implementation agreement on 15 July 2026 in Rabat to formalise its participation in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza. The signing was attended by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Deputy Minister of National Defense Abdeltif Loudyi, and Nickolay Mladenov, the High Representative of the Peace Council for Gaza, along with senior ISF commanders. The accord provides the legal and operational framework for the deployment of senior Moroccan military officers, gendarmerie and police personnel, and the establishment of a field hospital to support humanitarian operations in the enclave.

Morocco, one of the five founding troop‑contributing nations (together with Albania, Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Kosovo), will join the multinational force mandated by UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025) to monitor ceasefire, protect civilians, assist humanitarian aid, train Palestinian police and help prepare a technocratic administration. The agreement moves Morocco from a political commitment to concrete operational planning, reinforcing its foreign‑policy balance between Western allies, Israel and support for a two‑state solution for the Palestinians.
