Morocco tourism office showcases destination in Las Vegas, aims for 2.3 million business tourists by 2030
The Moroccan National Office of Tourism (ONMT), together with Expedia Group, illuminated the world‑largest LED Sphere at the Las Vegas Strip with a three‑day visual promotion of the Visit Morocco brand, turning the iconic globe into a showcase for the country.
At a board meeting on 24 June in Rabat, Minister Fatim‑Zahra Ammor reported that 2025 set a record with nearly 20 million visitors and 138 billion dirhams in travel revenue. Early‑2026 indicators show international arrivals up 7 %, travel receipts up 21 % and hotel overnight stays up 9 %. The agency’s roadmap targets 26 million tourists by 2030 and a specific goal of attracting 2.3 million MICE (business‑conference) visitors.
To support that goal, ONMT plans new conference facilities: a 5,000‑seat palace in Agadir opening late 2026, a world‑class 20,000‑seat centre in Marrakech, a future Casablanca venue by 2030, and a 700‑million‑dirham exhibition centre in Rabat. Airline capacity for summer 2026 has been expanded to 7.74 million seats (+13 %) with new bases in Rabat, Marrakech and Tetouan and 52 new international routes added in the first half of the year. The office also highlighted lower hotel prices compared with other destinations, averaging 500 dirhams for three‑star rooms versus 750 dirhams elsewhere.
These initiatives aim to raise Morocco’s global tourism profile, diversify its offer beyond seasonal leisure, and boost economic value through business travel and events.
