Morocco tourism highlights Marrakesh and the Sahara Desert

Morocco offers diverse cultural and landscape experiences ranging from the historic imperial cities to the vast Sahara Desert. In Marrakesh, visitors can explore the UNESCO World Heritage medina, the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, and historical sites such as the El Badi Palace, Bahia Palace, and the Koutoubia Mosque. The city is also known for the Majorelle Gardens and its traditional artisan markets.

Beyond the urban centers, travel routes extend into the southern desert regions. Starting from Mhamid El Ghizlane, travelers can follow ancient caravan routes through oases and plateaus to reach the Erg Chegaga and Erg Zahar dunes. These desert excursions often include trekking with nomads and overnight stays in bivouacs. Other major destinations in the country include Casablanca, Rabat, Meknès, and Fès.
