Morocco women's national team prepares for AFCON 2026

Coach Jorge Felda announced the final squad for the Morocco women’s national team ahead of the 2026 African Cup of Nations, which the country will host from 26 July to 16 August. He said the selection was based on a season‑long monitoring of players’ performances, minutes played and mental readiness, aiming to build a cohesive core while giving opportunities to a larger pool of athletes.

The team is training in a “family‑like” atmosphere at the Mohamed VI Football Academy and will face Cape Verde in a friendly to fine‑tune tactics before the tournament. Players such as captain Ghazlan Al‑Shabak and midfielder Skina Ouzraoui stressed their focus on cohesion, confidence and fan support as Morocco enters Group A with Senegal, Algeria and Kenya, targeting a strong showing and possibly the title.
