Morocco's 2026 music festivals announce line‑ups

The 27th edition of the Gnaoua & World Music Festival will take place in Essaouira from 25‑27 June 2026, featuring around 460 artists from Morocco and abroad. Highlights include Brazilian percussionist Carlinhos Brown, Cameroonian bassist Richard Bona, Lebanese singer‑songwriter Yasmine Hamdan, Palestinian group 47Soul and several Moroccan acts such as Oudaden and Hoba Hoba Spirit, underscoring the festival’s focus on cultural dialogue and genre cross‑overs.

Mawazine 2026 continues its diverse programme with Moroccan chaâbi star Statia performing in Salé on 21 June, and Portuguese singer‑songwriter Susana Travassos (joined by João Frade) slated for a concert at the historic Chellah on 23 June. The line‑up spotlights both local popular music traditions and international influences ranging from lusophone melodies to jazz and Latin‑American rhythms.
