Morocco Boosts Tourism from Brazil as Visitor Numbers Rise 14%

Morocco’s tourism authorities reported a 14 % increase in Brazilian visitor arrivals in the first half of 2026, with 30,132 guests recorded through June, up from 26,545 the previous year. The growth is linked to the revived Royal Air Maroc Casablanca‑Sao Paulo route, now operating four times weekly with Boeing 787‑9 aircraft and an 83 % load factor. The airline is adding a fifth weekly flight on 28 October and aims for a daily service by 2027, while a potential Rio de Janeiro route is under study.

Royal Air Maroc has also signed an interline agreement with Brazilian carrier LATAM to simplify connections from multiple Brazilian cities to its Casablanca hub. In 2025 the country welcomed 54,475 Brazilian tourists, a 35 % increase over 2024, and recorded 84,228 overnight stays, up 47 % and surpassing pre‑pandemic levels.
