Morocco's football federation credits King Mohammed VI's policy for youth leadership push

Fawzi Luqaj, the minister in charge of the budget and president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, told a parliamentary finance monitoring committee that Morocco is demonstrating how young people can assume leadership roles thanks to the policy driven by King Mohammed VI. He said the royal initiative began with the king’s message to the first national sports forum and was reinforced by the creation of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, which has helped develop new generations of players.

Luqaj praised the national team’s recent results as evidence that Morocco is approaching world‑class status and reaffirmed the goal of advancing as far as possible in the 2026 World Cup. He thanked the king for continuous support, describing it as a lasting motivation for the federation, the players and technical staff to fulfill their duties and strive for greater success.
