Morocco's Prison Training Institute Earns First Africa‑Arab Accreditation from US Association

The National Institute for Prison Staff Training, part of Morocco's General Directorate of Prison Administration and Reintegration, received an accreditation certificate from the American Correctional Association (ACA). The award, presented to the institute’s director at an international forum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, marks the first time an institute of its kind has been accredited in Africa and the Arab world.

The accreditation follows a multi‑year partnership with the U.S. International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) office and reflects Morocco’s push to modernise its prison system, including digitalisation of prison management and adherence to international standards on good governance, human rights and professional performance. The institute aims to become a regional hub for training and knowledge exchange across Africa and the Middle East.
