Moropocay families receive food aid following drought losses
More than 1,200 food rations were distributed to families in Moropocay, Valle, to mitigate the impact of severe drought. The initiative was led by the President of the National Congress, Tomás Zambrano, alongside Deputy Carolina Flores and the President of the SAPP, Marcos Velásquez.
The community, which relies heavily on agriculture, has suffered significant crop losses due to a lack of rainfall. Zambrano noted that the drought has particularly affected farming parents who are now facing uncertainty regarding their upcoming secondary planting season. He emphasized the government's responsibility to support families facing food insecurity after losing their harvests.
