Morrissey draws 68,000 fans to Barcelona Barts Festival finale
Morrissey performed at the Poble Espanyol in Barcelona, closing the inaugural Barts Festival. The concert attracted a substantial crowd, with the festival reporting a total of 68,000 attendees across its 20 nights and an average occupancy of 70%.
The singer arrived about 11 minutes late, delivered a set that included tracks such as “Billy Budd” from his 1994 album Vauxhall and I, and addressed the audience, reiterating his recent appeal to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to ban bullfighting. Fans camped overnight to secure early entry, and the venue offered a strictly vegan food menu.
The event marked Morrissey's fourth appearance in Barcelona, following historic shows with The Smiths and earlier solo concerts.
