Morrissey performs at Lake Sound Park in Cernobbio

British singer‑songwriter Morrissey staged a concert at Lake Sound Park in Cernobbio, Lombardy, on 20 July. The show took place in the former gallop track of Villa Erba on the shores of Lake Como and marked the first of two summer dates in Italy, the second scheduled for 21 July in Asti. Attendees arrived from across Italy and abroad, filling the historic venue that once housed director Luchino Visconti.

Morrissey opened the performance with a video montage that draws on classic Italian cinema, a habit he has maintained for years. He paid tribute to Visconti’s co‑directors Pier Paolo Pasolini and Federico Fellini and performed his own homage “You Have Killed Me,” referencing the film *Rocco e i suoi fratelli*.

Fans of all ages—long‑time followers from the Smiths era, newer supporters wearing his portrait shirts, and families with children—filled the crowd. Known for an unpredictable presence, Morrissey alternated between black, yellow and blue shirts, carried a cimbalom and a bouquet of flowers, and delivered his characteristic blend of romantic, egocentric and poetic lyrics.
