Morro do Boi Tunnel to undergo maintenance and closures

The concessionaire Arteris Litoral Sul has announced scheduled maintenance for the ventilation jets in the Morro do Boi Tunnel, located at km 144 of the BR-101 highway in Balneário Camboriú. The work is set to take place during the night on September 1 and 2 to minimize traffic disruption.

On the night of September 1, starting at 11:50 PM, the tunnel will undergo a total closure to maintain ventilation jets 1 and 2. This full blockade will last until 3:00 AM on September 2. Following this period, the left lane will be reopened to traffic while work continues on the right lane and shoulder.

On the night of September 2, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, maintenance will be performed on ventilation jets 3 through 8. During this second phase, the tunnel will remain open, with vehicles permitted to circulate in the left lane while crews work on the right lane and shoulder. These ventilation systems are critical for air renewal, gas elimination, and smoke control during emergencies.
