Mortal Kombat II film streams exclusively on HBO Max

New Line Cinema’s "Mortal Kombat II: The Film" will make its global streaming debut on HBO Max on 24 July, with a subsequent broadcast on HBO on 9 August. The action‑fantasy sequel expands the video‑game franchise with new battles, a larger tournament, and a threat to Earthrealm that could endanger the entire realm.

The cast includes Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, alongside Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Lewis Tan, Ludi Lin, Martyn Ford, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, Josh Lawson, Max Huang and Mehcad Brooks. Directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Jeremy Slater, the film also offers accessibility versions with American Sign Language and Brazilian Sign Language.

Producers include Todd Garner, E. Bennett Walsh, James Wan, Toby Emmerich and Simon McQuoid, with executive producers Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Jeremy Slater, Ed Boon and Lawrence Kasanoff.
