Mortal Shell 2 launches open beta for PS5 and Xbox

Cold Symmetry and Playstack have launched an open beta for the action RPG Mortal Shell 2 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The free test, which became available on July 31, allows players to experience approximately the first three hours of the game, including the prologue and the first explorable area of the open world. Players who complete at least 30 minutes of gameplay can unlock an exclusive cosmetic reward.

The beta content focuses on gameplay mechanics such as controlling fallen warriors and utilizing their unique abilities. It also features optional dungeons, hidden mini-bosses, and the ability to cleanse multiple beacons. While the PC version has been available via Steam since June, the console beta provides an opportunity for players to test the title ahead of its official release.

Mortal Shell 2 is scheduled to officially launch on August 20, 2026. The full version will include a significant list of achievements and trophies, including 53 trophies on PlayStation and 52 achievements on Xbox and Steam.
