Mortal Shell 2 receives major gameplay and combat update
Mortal Shell 2 has received a significant update one week after its launch to address gameplay frustrations and improve the player experience. The update, available on PC and consoles, focuses on combat, boss encounters, exploration, and performance.
Key changes include making resources such as Glimpses and Tarcore easier to obtain, which facilitates experimentation with different character builds. A new item has been introduced that allows players to reset a Shell's development, reclaiming invested materials for reassignment. Additionally, a new consumable stone provides rewards to aid progression, and exploration has been streamlined by allowing players to teleport after combat to avoid backtracking.
Combat mechanics have also been refined. A revised counterattack following a parry now deals damage based on the enemy's remaining health. The developers have also corrected animation issues, invulnerability windows, and bugs where damage was either applied twice or not registered correctly. Boss encounters have been adjusted to improve balance.
