Mortal Shell II Open Beta Launches on Xbox and PlayStation

Cold Symmetry and publisher Playstack have released an open beta for the souls‑like action RPG Mortal Shell II on console platforms. The beta is now available for free on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox consoles, as well as on PlayStation 5, letting players explore the game's prologue, early dungeons and new combat mechanics.

The test follows a highly successful PC demo that attracted more than half a million downloads during the recent Steam Next Fest, prompting the studio to expand testing to next‑gen consoles. Participants can report bugs and performance issues via the official Discord channel, and feedback will be used to refine the final build slated for release on 20 August. No fixed end date for the beta has been announced.

The rollout highlights the growing interest in the sequel to the 2020 surprise hit, offering console gamers early access to the dark fantasy world and exclusive in‑game rewards.
