Mortal Shell 2 open beta launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Cold Symmetry and publisher PlayStack have released the open beta for Mortal Shell 2 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, matching the free PC version on Steam. The beta is a free download that lets players experience roughly three hours of gameplay – the prologue and the first open‑world area – on all platforms.
Progress made in the beta can be transferred to the full game when it launches on August 20, 2026. Players who clear the Marrow Keep segment will be able to skip the prologue in the final release, and anyone who spends at least 30 minutes in the beta unlocks the exclusive cosmetic skin “Flayed Harbinger”.
The console beta is identical to the PC build and has already attracted hundreds of thousands of testers – reports cite over 500,000 to 650,000 downloads of the PC version before the console rollout. Pre‑order editions such as the Devout and Revered versions offer early‑access periods and additional in‑game items, but the core beta experience is the same for all players.
