Morten Dahm Kjærgaard appointed head coach of Silkeborg IF

Morten Dahm Kjærgaard, 42, has been named the new head coach of Silkeborg IF ahead of the Danish Superliga season. After ending his playing ambitions at 16, he began coaching at his childhood club Taulov/Skærbæk, later moving to FC Fredericia’s U19 side, a stint at Vejle Boldklub, and serving as an assistant under Allan Simonsen, Nicolai Wael, Peter Sørensen and Ove Pedersen. In 2020 he secured his first senior head‑coach role with Aarhus Fremad, a milestone that paved the way to his current top‑flight appointment. Kjærgaard describes the Silkeborg job as the culmination of two‑and‑a‑half years of focused work and sees it as a deserved breakthrough in his ambition to coach at the highest level in Denmark.
