Morten Harket announces first solo album in 12 years

Morten Harket, the singer of a-ha, has announced his first solo album in 12 years, titled ‘Human Grace’. Scheduled for release on November 27, the ten-track project is his seventh solo effort and was produced by Harket alongside long-time collaborator Peter Kvint.

The album holds personal significance following Harket’s 2025 diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. He noted that the diagnosis created a sense of urgency to complete compositions that had been in development for several years. Harket described the album as a ‘celebration of life’ and mentioned that his daughters, Tomine Harket and Karmen Poppi A. Harket, contribute to the project.

In recent interviews, Harket discussed the impact of Parkinson’s on his vocal abilities, explaining that both the disease and its medication side effects have affected his voice. While he noted that his singing voice is not yet fully restored to its active state, he stated that the condition has not broken his spirit. Regarding a potential reunion with a-ha, Harket indicated that while there is no friction with bandmates, he remains cautious about the media attention such an event would attract.
