Mortágua to invest €1M in wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation

The Municipality of Mortágua is set to proceed with the rehabilitation of its Wastewater Treatment Station (ETAR) following favorable approval from the Court of Auditors. The project, which was awarded in June, involves an investment of approximately 1 million euros.

The works are expected to take 365 days to complete. This intervention is described as the largest single project for the municipality's wastewater treatment system, aimed at modernizing equipment, increasing efficiency, and expanding capacity to meet both current and projected population needs.

This project is part of a broader five-year investment strategy by the municipality in Viseu to expand sanitation networks, including new drainage systems in Vila Pouca and Sula, and the construction of new pumping stations. Other recent developments include the modernization of the Crafuncho ETAR and the commissioning of a new station to serve Pomares, Vale da Vide, and Barracão.
