Mortiis releases new ‘Farewell Romero’ EP with alternate versions

Norwegian musician Mortiis has issued a three‑track digital EP titled “Farewell Romero,” built around the title track from his recent album Ghosts of Europa. The release includes the original album version, a re‑imagined piano rendition called “Farewell Romero (No Longer Feel the Same)” performed with French classical pianist Nicolas Horvath, and a “Madrigal Version” of the track “Violent Silence” featuring former Todesbonden vocalist Laurie Ann Haus.

Mortiis explained that he routinely experiments with song structures, often discarding melodies or sections that no longer fit his vision. He said the EP reflects that habit, noting that “killing your darlings” can be painful but necessary. In addition to the EP, Mortiis confirmed upcoming live dates, including a Latin American tour in October and Australian shows in November.
