Moscow authorities detain teenager following US intelligence tip-off
Russian security services have detained a minor in Moscow on suspicion of planning an attack at the Tsaritsyno museum and park reserve. The arrest followed actionable intelligence provided by United States intelligence services, marking a rare instance of security cooperation between Washington and Moscow.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) confirmed the operation after receiving warnings through intelligence channels on October 31. The US Embassy in Moscow had issued a security alert warning of a credible threat of mass casualties at the 18th-century palace museum and public reserve, urging American citizens to avoid the area. The German Embassy also advised its citizens to stay away.
Following the warnings, authorities evacuated the grounds and temporarily sealed the perimeter, canceling public events including an organ concert. Investigators reported that the suspect had posted social media content on TikTok, appearing in tactical clothing and gear while holding an object resembling an automatic weapon. A search of the teenager's residence uncovered items matching the clothing and gear seen in the videos.
