Moscow gallery hosts luxury sale of dinosaur fossils and meteorites

A luxury exhibition in Moscow is offering high-end paleontological specimens and celestial objects for sale at the Stargift art gallery. Led by Mikhail Voskresensky through his ‘Paleopark of Russia’ project, the sale features a diverse range of prehistoric remains and minerals aimed at exclusive collectors.

Notable items include a 12,000-year-old cave bear skeleton standing nearly three meters tall, priced at 10 million rubles (approximately $116,400). Other significant pieces include a woolly rhinoceros skull for 1.6 million rubles ($18,600) and a complete psittacosaur skeleton, a predecessor to the triceratops, valued at 12.5 million rubles (over $145,500). The collection also contains a Megalodon tooth priced at 800,000 rubles (over $9,000).

In addition to organic fossils such as ancient jellyfish, crustaceans, and mollusks, the exhibition includes minerals and meteorite fragments. Some meteorites are presented in laminated forms to highlight their metallic crystal structures. Many of these items are sourced from private collectors or imported, supported by Russian legislation regarding such objects.
