Moscow officials report massive drone attacks and weapon re-export tensions
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that Russian air defenses intercepted over 600 drones heading toward the capital on Saturday night, including 201 drones near the city. The strikes resulted in three injuries near the MKAD ring road, and air traffic was temporarily suspended at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports.
In the Rostov region, Governor Yuri Slyusar stated that more than 150 drones were shot down, resulting in three deaths and one injury.
Separately, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova called on the United States and Turkey to clarify information released by the US Congress regarding plans to re-export American weapons to the Ukrainian military. According to the documents, Kyiv would receive items from Turkish stocks, including 12 M270 MLRS rocket launchers, over 2,500 unguided cluster munitions, 47,000 203mm cluster artillery shells, and 70 ATACMS missiles. Zakharova noted that such actions undermine mutual trust, reminding that Ankara had previously stated it does not wish to supply lethal weapons to Ukraine.
