Moses Itauma receives medical suspension after loss to Filip Hrgović

British boxer Moses Itauma has received a 45-day medical suspension following his technical knockout loss to Filip Hrgović in an IBF heavyweight title match at London's O2 Arena.

During the ninth round, Itauma suffered a significant loss of energy and speed, which Hrgović exploited to force a stoppage. The exhaustion was so severe that Itauma required assistance to leave the ring and was transported via stretcher to a hospital for medical examinations.

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) issued the 45-day suspension as a protective measure, prohibiting Itauma from participating in official matches or sparring sessions. Promoter Frank Warren expressed concern regarding the psychological impact of the defeat on the 21-year-old, stating that the fighter will need time to recover and receive support before discussing future career steps.
