Moses Itauma to return to boxing in early 2027
Promoter Frank Warren has announced that heavyweight boxer Moses Itauma is scheduled to return to the ring in early 2027. The 21-year-old British fighter is currently back in the gym following his first professional defeat against Filip Hrgovic.
During his recent world title bid, Itauma struggled with physical fitness and defensive tactics, eventually running out of gas by the ninth round. While Itauma was taken to the hospital after the bout, he has since recovered well. Warren noted that the fighter is disappointed but recognizes the need for “serious changes” to his approach and training.
Discussions regarding Itauma’s coaching staff, specifically trainer Ben Davison, have emerged following criticisms of his management during the fight. Analysts suggest that while Itauma may lack the experience and defensive craft required for elite heavyweights, he remains a significant talent capable of dominating the division once he rebuilds his reputation through lower-level fights.
