Moshe Grunhaus Stabbed in Manhattan Synagogue Attack

On the morning of Tisha B’Av, Moshe Grunhaus, a senior leader of The Jewish Center on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, was stabbed in the chest while walking home about 200 feet from the synagogue. The assailant shouted “Allahu Akbar” before being quickly apprehended by police. New York City prosecutors have charged the suspect with assault, attempted murder and a hate‑crime violation. Grunhaus survived the attack and is expected to make a full recovery.
