Mossoró Book Fair allocates R$ 556,000 for student literacy

The 21st Mossoró Book Fair has allocated R$ 556,357.77 to benefit more than 60,000 students across 246 state schools in Rio Grande do Norte. The funds are intended to expand and diversify school collections, covering various educational stages and pedagogical needs.

To support local culture, at least 40% of the funds allocated to each school must be used to purchase works by authors from Rio Grande do Norte. The initiative also prioritizes accessibility, including Braille books and digital files compatible with screen readers. The resources are distributed to school funds, which are responsible for the purchases based on enrollment numbers.
