Asturias: Five men arrested for transphobic assault by neo-Nazi group
The Guardia Civil has arrested five men, aged between 18 and 20, for a violent transphobic attack on a transgender woman in Piedras Blancas, Asturias. The assault, which occurred in January, left the victim with severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury that required hospitalization.
Investigators linked the suspects to the neo-Nazi group ‘White Boys’, a far-right organization previously dismantled by the National Police. The group reportedly used instant messaging applications to coordinate the attack, during which the victim was subjected to physical violence, death threats, and transphobic insults.
The arrests were carried out in stages between April and September. Three of the detainees had previously been investigated in 2025 for other hate crimes. The suspects face charges of hate crimes involving injury to dignity, physical assault, threats, and property damage, with discriminatory motivation cited as an aggravating factor. The case has been referred to the Court of Instance of Avilés.
