Mossos d'Esquadra warn of online pimping on OnlyFans
Investigators from the Mossos d'Esquadra have identified a growing trend of online pimping involving explicit content platforms like OnlyFans. Perpetrators, described as ‘online pimps,’ target young content creators with false promises of increasing their profile visibility and monetization.
These individuals often pose as legitimate influencer management agencies. Once they gain control of a creator's account, they demand a portion of the earnings, which can escalate to as much as 90% of the victim's income. The agents report that exploiters use access to pornographic material to blackmail victims, threatening to distribute content to acquaintances if the creators attempt to leave the industry.
In some instances, exploiters demand increasingly explicit content that the victims do not wish to produce, leading to a total loss of control over their digital media. Law enforcement notes that identifying these individuals is difficult as they are not always physically located in Spain, and victims frequently refrain from reporting the crimes.
