Mostafa Tajzadeh granted temporary furlough from Evin Prison

Iranian political activist Mostafa Tajzadeh has been granted a temporary furlough from Evin Prison. His wife, Fakhredalat Mohtashamipour, confirmed his release on Sunday, noting that while the exact duration of the leave remains unconfirmed, it is expected to last for several days.

The release follows recent legal developments. Tajzadeh had been facing a new case involving charges of ‘propaganda against the regime.’ Reports indicate that a non-prosecution order was issued for this specific case, resolving the judicial obstacle that had previously delayed his furlough.

Tajzadeh has spent a total of nearly 11 years in prison across two separate terms, following the 2009 unrest and his re-arrest in July 2022. His recent charges included ‘collusion against security,’ ‘spreading falsehoods,’ and ‘propaganda against the regime.’
