Regional developments in Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro

Several regional developments are unfolding across Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

In Croatia, Agriculture Minister David Vlajčić announced plans to amend legislation to prevent individuals who incite fires or promote aggression against the state from receiving agricultural subsidies. Meanwhile, the Croatian Association of Employers (HUP) has called for the removal of government-imposed price caps on certain products, arguing the measures are no longer justified and create administrative difficulties for retailers.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the judicial union in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton has rejected government claims of a resolution, announcing a general strike for September 7. Additionally, healthcare unions in Mostar are demanding the resignation of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar's Governing Board following the controversial adoption of a new labor regulation regarding doctor salaries.

In Montenegro, a commercial court rejected a lawsuit by Boka pilot & Tug Boat Services against the state and Luka Kotor. The company had challenged a 2018 government decision that granted an exclusive concession for the use of the Kotor commercial port, which included pilotage services.
