Mostar hosts exhibition marking 140 years of Silvije Strahimir Kranjčević

An exhibition titled ‘Kranjčević in Mostar – Dialogue between Words and Images’ has opened at the Queen Katarina Kosaca Gallery in the Herceg Stjepan Kosača Croatian Home. The event commemorates the 140th anniversary of the poet Silvio Strahimir Kranjčević’s arrival in Mostar.

The exhibition features over 200 literary titles from the Sesar Collection, including editions of Kranjčević’s books published between 1885 and 1967, special editions from his lifetime, and various periodicals and literature regarding his life and work.

In addition to the literary works, students from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Mostar contributed 14 paintings and 7 graphics. These works aim to find visual equivalents to the poet's words rather than providing direct illustrations. The project is a collaboration involving the Sesar Foundation, the Academy of Fine Arts, and several other cultural and educational institutions.
