Mostar hosts regional conference on EU financial perspective 2028–2034
A regional conference titled ‘EU Policies and Financial Perspective 2028–2034’ was held at the University of Mostar campus. Organized by the University of Mostar and University North from Croatia, the event focused on the future of European policies and financial instruments for the upcoming EU budget period.
Participants included policymakers, officials, and experts discussing the opportunities and challenges of the new financial framework. Ivan Jurilj, Director of the Office for European Integration of West Herzegovina Canton, emphasized the importance of preparing strategies at municipal, cantonal, and federal levels to align local needs with EU policies, particularly as Bosnia and Herzegovina navigates its European integration process.
Nataša Mikuš Žigman, State Secretary in the Croatian Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, highlighted the success of cross-border cooperation, noting that partners from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have implemented 117 projects valued at nearly 130 million euros. The collaboration between the two universities also includes the launch of a postgraduate specialist study to train experts capable of utilizing EU funds effectively.
