Mostar hosts scientific conferences on regional heritage and history
Academic and cultural institutions in Mostar have hosted significant scientific events focused on the historical and cultural heritage of the region. The Sixth International Scientific Conference, ‘Slovo o Hercegovini’, was held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University ‘Džemal Bijedić’. The conference aimed to examine Herzegovina through various socio-humanistic lenses, including its language, literature, and history from antiquity to the modern era.
Additionally, a new collection of scientific papers titled ‘The Consequences of the Disappearance of the Bosnian Kingdom’ was presented at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Mostar. This collection includes 17 works from researchers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and other European countries. The volume explores the long-term impacts of the Ottoman conquest of the Bosnian Kingdom in 1463 and features the testament of Queen Katarina Kosača, marking the 600th anniversary of her birth.
