Mostar hosts Street Arts Festival and international literary event

Mostar is hosting significant cultural events, including the 15th anniversary of the Street Arts Festival Mostar (SAFMo) and the 4th international literary festival, “Woman with a Book”.

SAFMo, which began in 2012, will run from August 21 to 31. The festival features eleven international artists from countries including Spain, France, Serbia, Croatia, Austria, Canada, Australia, and Ireland. The event aims to transform public spaces through murals, graffiti, and artistic interventions, building on a collection of nearly 200 existing works in the city. The Mostar Tourism Board has expressed its support for the festival as a means to promote the city’s identity as a center for creativity and openness.

Simultaneously, the “Woman with a Book” festival is taking place in Mostar and Stolac from August 18 to 21. This year’s edition brings together 68 female authors from 12 countries and 36 cities worldwide. The festival includes the promotion of a collective anthology titled “Global Events through a Female Perspective,” which explores contemporary world issues through women’s literary voices. The event also features awards in poetry, prose, and children’s literature.
