Mostar Islamic Community defends Mufti Salem Dedović

The Islamic Community of Mostar has addressed recent political criticisms directed at Mufti Salem Dedović. Dedović, a non-cabinet candidate for the position of Reisul-ulema, has faced allegations from certain Croatian political circles regarding the purported intention to introduce Sharia law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Supporters of the Mufti argue that these claims are political constructions based on a religious document published by the Mostar Muftiate in mid-2025. They contend that such accusations are part of a broader effort to undermine the spiritual and cultural fabric of the Bosniak community and the state structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
