Mostar Labs launches floating renewable energy platform for coastal sites

Mostar Labs, a Victoria‑based clean‑technology company, is developing the LilyPad platform – a modular, floating system that combines solar and wind generation, battery storage, communications and customizable payloads. The system is designed to provide low‑emission power to remote coastal operations such as ports, Coast Guard stations, aquaculture facilities and research stations, where permanent infrastructure is difficult or costly.

The project is being supported by Innovate BC through its Integrated Marketplace Platform, including the COAST Innovation Challenge and an Early‑Stage Demonstration Call. Innovate BC President and CEO Peter Cowan discussed the partnership with Mostar founder and CEO Meiz Madjoub, emphasizing the importance of real‑world demonstration opportunities to accelerate marine‑sector innovation.
