Mostar Launches New Waste Sorting Initiative to Boost Recycling

The city of Mostar has begun a series of pilot activities aimed at raising public awareness, educating residents and fostering more responsible waste management. The programme, part of the URBACT Pioneers Accelerator project, addresses current challenges with the city's landfill and infrastructure while also seeking immediate, implementable changes.

Key measures include direct communication with citizens through short surveys, the release of educational materials on proper sorting and recycling, and storytelling from the field. A special focus will be placed on children, who will attend creative workshops under the slogan “Separate. Recycle. Inspire.” The municipality urges residents to contribute their ideas to help build a greener future for Mostar.
