Mostar Mufti criticizes Plenković over theatre construction
Mostar Mufti Dr. Salem-ef. Dedović has criticized the visit of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković to the construction site of the Croatian National Theatre in Mostar. Dedović claims that the Croatian government is generously financing a building being erected on the Lakišića harem, which he describes as a Muslim sacred space that has been seized.
Dedović stated that Plenković’s actions are thickening the boundaries of division and unrest in Mostar rather than fostering dialogue or respecting the city’s Muslim culture. He also criticized the silence of local Bosnian-Herzegovinian political parties regarding the matter, calling their pre-election inaction symptomatic despite their claims of patriotic orientation.
