Mostar mufti denounces political violence and Bosniak discrimination over landfill dispute

Dr. Salem‑ef. Dedović, the mufti of Mostar, delivered a sermon at Karađoz‑begova mosque denouncing political violence and discrimination against Bosniaks in Mostar and the wider Herzegovina region. He linked the current climate to unresolved war crimes and called for adherence to religious values of truth and patience.

The mufti warned that the re‑activation of the Uborak landfill threatens public health and the environment, citing a recent fire at the site. He also condemned recent provocations at the Kantarevac mosque and highlighted the dismissal of 22 Bosniak employees from the municipal company Komunal as part of political pressure against the Bosniak community.
