Mostar Olympic swimming pool construction enters second phase planning

Construction of the Olympic swimming pool in Mostar is currently in its first phase, valued at approximately 12 million KM. The project aims to provide high-quality training facilities for local swimming clubs and athletes, addressing the lack of adequate infrastructure in the city.

Work on the first phase is nearing completion, with tasks such as waterproofing and closing the building remaining. The project faced delays due to the unforeseen need to relocate a school, a transformer station, and an association for parents of children with special needs, which required additional funding from the City of Mostar.

The second phase, estimated to cost over 20 million KM, has seen a contractor selected, but the contract signing is currently delayed due to an ongoing appeals process. The final completion of the entire project depends on the continuity of funding from the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and future municipal budgets. If funding remains consistent, officials expect all phases could be completed within the next two to three years.
