Mostar Student Dorms Fill Up as Rijeka Dorm Prices Set to Rise

The Student Center of the University of Mostar reported that out of nearly 400 applications, 260 senior students secured accommodation, fully occupying the available capacity. Director Anita Glibić noted strong demand and announced plans for a new project to add 150 A‑category rooms, fitness facilities, and a restaurant, with construction slated to begin soon.

In Croatia, the University of Rijeka’s Student Center warned that the Senate will approve a price increase for its two dormitory sites. Although the exact rise was not disclosed, the center’s director Goran Manestar said Rijeka’s student housing will remain the cheapest in the country even after the hike. Current monthly rents range from €51‑€54 on the Trsat campus to €74 on the Ivan Goran Kovačić campus, while a new pavilion with 284 beds is under construction to ease demand.

Both institutions are addressing high demand for student accommodation, with Mostar focusing on expanding capacity and Rijeka managing affordability amid rising costs.
