Mostar to receive 530 million euro data center investment

The American company AAFS Infrastructure and Energy plans to invest approximately 530 million euros in a 100-megawatt data center in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This project is part of a broader investment offensive in the country by AAFS, which could exceed two billion euros and includes gas pipelines, three gas power plants, and the modernization of airports in Sarajevo and Mostar.

AAFS was founded a year ago, with founders including Jesse Binal, a former lawyer for Donald Trump, and Joseph Flynn, brother of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. The company intends to secure funding through American development institutions and international funds.

The project comes as Balkan nations increasingly focus on digital infrastructure. Serbia has expanded its State Data Center in Kragujevac, Albania is developing a project to reach 100 megawatts, Montenegro is planning a state data center, and Bulgaria has signed a memorandum with German investor Brinell Compute to build a massive AI data center near Plovdiv.
