MoTA Secretary reviews tribal welfare schemes in Madhya Pradesh

Ranjana Chopra, Secretary of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), conducted a field visit in Madhya Pradesh to review the implementation and last-mile delivery of tribal welfare schemes. Accompanied by Additional Secretary Manish Thakur and state officials, the visit focused on assessing flagship government programmes and interacting directly with beneficiaries.

During the inspection, Chopra visited the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in Morod, where she observed digital smart classrooms used for teaching Scheduled Tribe (ST) children, specifically those from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The school operates under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) frameworks.

The visit also included stops at the Bunkar Suvidha Kendra in Maheshwar, Khargone district, where women produce Maheshwari sarees, and the Adi Sewa Kendra in Keriyakheri. Chopra engaged with local community members regarding services such as ration cards and holders of titles issued under the Forest Rights Act (FRA).
