Ankara celebrates 103rd anniversary as Turkey's capital

Ankara marked the 103rd anniversary of its designation as the capital of Turkey with several official ceremonies. A delegation led by Ankara Governor Yakup Canbolat, including Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, visited Anıtkabir to pay respects at Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s mausoleum.

Following the visit to Anıtkabir, a ceremony was held at the First Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) building. During the event, Governor Canbolat emphasized that the assembly served as the foundation of the Republic and the center of the independence struggle. Mayor Mansur Yavaş noted that the decision to make Ankara the capital was a natural consequence of the city's role as the heart of the National Struggle.
