Mother of Argentine teen Agostina Vega urges life sentences for alleged killers

Melisa Vega, mother of 14‑year‑old Agostina Vega who was murdered on 30 May in the Ampliación Ferreyra district, spoke to Canal 10 demanding the maximum penalty for the four detained suspects. She praised prosecutor Garzón’s work and said the accused should receive a perpetual prison term.

The case involves Claudio Barrelier, charged with sexual abuse with carnal access and a triple‑qualified homicide, and three others – Osvaldo Fassetta, Soledad Andreani and Marianela Palmero – charged with aggravated concealment. Melisa said Barrelier’s close circle knew the plan, and she emphasized her resolve to see justice served while coping with the loss of her daughter.
