Mother of Justin Asprilla seriously injured in Terni car accident

A 49-year-old woman was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Terni, Italy, on Sunday, August 16. The woman, the mother of Justin Andres Asprilla Caicedo—a 22-year-old who drowned in Lake Bolsena on July 22—was traveling back from visiting her son's grave when the collision occurred.

The accident, which took place on Viale Borzacchini, involved a chain reaction of four vehicles. One car became precariously balanced on the Terni-Sulmona railway overpass, requiring firefighters to use specialized equipment to extract the woman from the wreckage.

Seven people were injured in total, but the mother remains in critical condition at the Santa Maria Hospital in Terni. While she is not reported to be in immediate life-threatening danger, her prognosis remains reserved, and she may require surgery. Local police are currently investigating the exact cause and dynamics of the crash.
