Mother of Mława murder suspect detained after police assault

Katarzyna G., the mother of Bartosz G.—who is accused of the 2025 murder of 16-year-old Maja K. in Mława—has been detained following an incident during a police search. While authorities were conducting a search to secure documents and electronic data related to an investigation into whether she incited murder, the woman reportedly attacked and assaulted officers. This incident has led to a separate investigation regarding the violation of an officer's physical integrity.

The broader investigation involves allegations that Katarzyna G. attempted to solicit the murder of three individuals: the victim's father, the family's legal representative, and an unidentified woman. Legal counsel for the victim's family, Wojciech Kasprzyk, expressed significant fear for their safety, citing previous death threats and stalking behavior. He noted that the prosecution had previously dismissed investigations into these threats despite recorded evidence of her intentions.

Bartosz G., the primary suspect in the murder of Maja K., was apprehended in Greece and returned to Poland in December 2025. He faces charges of murder committed with particular cruelty. The trial for Bartosz G. is scheduled to begin on October 7 before the District Court in Płock.
