Mother Teresa of Calcutta commemoration scheduled in San Rafael

The community in San Rafael will commemorate Mother Teresa of Calcutta this Saturday, September 5, at the Cáritas chapel. The event will begin at 17:30 with a procession starting from the intersection of Paula Albarracín de Sarmiento and Comodoro Py, followed by a Holy Mass.

September 5 marks the anniversary of the religious figure's death in 1997. Mother Teresa, the patron saint of Cáritas International, is globally recognized for her service to the most vulnerable populations. She founded the Missionaries of Charity on October 7, 1950, a congregation dedicated to supporting those in poverty, sickness, and abandonment. Her humanitarian work earned her the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
